A lot of people ask us "what's your favorite thing to make?" and as it turns out, we actually have a few favorites. Below are our top 5 favorite dishes, and why. We'll update this continuously as we find meals we like better, or as we re-make old standby's and realize why they're great.
1) Lobster Spaghetti with Sweet Garlic and Chives
Topping off the list is clearly this wonderfully luxurious yet extraordinarily simple seafood pasta dish. The sweet, supple lobster meat pairs wonderfully with the savory sweet garlic cloves, and the chives add a tangy crunchy complement.
2) Chicken Enchiladas Verdes
The Verdes sauce on this dish, devoid of any tomatillos, is strange in its conception but wonderful to the taste bud. It's light, and bursting with flavor. Stuffed with shredded chicken, it's filling as well. Since it's made with flour tortillas and covered with melted cheese, it's probably not the most authentic Mexican dish, that doesn't make it any less delicious.
This little appetizer is a favorite of ours that we make over and over again. Since it has vegetables, it's obviously healthy, but being stuffed with ricotta and drenched in tomato sauce makes it undeniably delicious. They're a touch complicated to make, but with practice (and you'll surely make these enough times to get the required practice), they'll become almost second nature!
4) Rigatoni alla Vodka
There's something about a good vodka sauce that really makes us want to devour bowls of it at a time. This dish, inspired by Mario Batali, is insanely easy to make, and very delicious. Plus, it calls for plumes of fire coming out of your pan.
5) Manhattan Clam Chowder
YiRan loves manhattan clam chowder, and when we finally figured out how to make it at home, she was in heaven. This recipe is actually quite simple to make and doesn't require too many ingredients, but will give you a nice, comforting feeling as you eat each warm bite.
That's our top five as it stands right now, but this is definitely subject to change. Check back regularly for updates!
